More About Easels for Kids

When my girls were small, we set up a room where an easel for each girl was situated. All the fun that could be had with Acrylic Paints and wildly free formed master pieces were soon to be found on these easels for kids.

Child Size Easel

A child's imagination is something to behold and to cherish throughout their lives. What better way than to let the apple of your eye (or apples) express themselves by giving them the tools and the freedom to create the beautiful world that can only be seen through the eyes of a child? Nothing can give them more fun or joy than a child size easel - if the child is desirous of painting or drawing. And nothing could be worse than to try to force a child into that mold.

So, by allowing the children to run with their ideas, giving them a kid's easel turns out to be an easy decision. Now the question becomes what style and type of easel to select for the budding young artists. There are so many choices.

There are floor models that look like the 'big person's easel'. Children love to emulate the adults around them or someone they know well. (That is, when the children are little.) Some of these floor models have all the accouterments that you would expect to find on a full sized easel. A model like this is great for the true 'little artist'.

Floor Model Easels

Other floor models will be like the ones at school, with a shelf across the bottom to hold the jars of paint. These are rather primitive in comparison to the professional model described above. Nevertheless, they can provide hours of fun and endless entertainment for the kids.

Table Top Easels

There are also table top models that, as you might surmise, are designed to sit on top of a table. This can be a great space saving easel as the easel will fold up and can be stored in a closet or on a shelf. It is also useful as a portable easel when traveling. The paints will be placed on the table top beside the easel, so care will have to be taken in order to prevent the spillage of the paints.

Any way that you choose to go with easels for kids, know that the children will enjoy years of use of these wonderful, fun providing, and talent growing tools you have given them.
